SITDOWN: NATASHA RUWONA

Sitdown is an Alchemy Film & Arts series of artist interviews, published to complement its exhibitions, residencies, and other events. You can find all other Sitdown entries here.

Alchemy artist in residence Natasha Ruwona presented an opening night performance for the eleventh edition of Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival. Working with collaborators Khadea Kuchenmeister and Clara Hancock, Natasha produced a live adaptation of their research surrounding water, including a screening of their film, UMBILIC.
On 29 April 2021, building on from their initial conversation for the premiere of UMBILIC with HubCAP gallery, Natasha was joined by artist and ceramist Khadea Kuchenmeister, to engage in a dialogue about the performance and body of research.
