2014 Submission Form

Film and Moving Image works

Please use this form to submit your film details, or installation proposals. You can submit as many films as you like and there is no fee to submit. We review everything, so please only submit if your work seems relevant to the 'DreamLand' theme. Please note that we cannot pay screening fees, though we can usually reimburse postal expenses for the shipping of final screening prints, hard drives etc.

Installations and Expanded Cinema events

We are also able to support a limited number of moving image installations and expanded cinema projects each year. In the case of installations, this typically involves us providing a space (often an empty shop or ex-industrial premises), help with venue prep, plus volunteer invigilation for the duration of the festival. In the case of expanded cinema projects and performances, you need to make clear what you need from us in terms of space, equipment and financial support (always very limited!).

If Alchemy shows this film, would it be a premiere screening in either Scotland, United Kingdom, Europe or the World? We do prefer work that has not previously been seen in Scotland, though It is not a requirement.
Please tell us about any specific space, technical requirements or minimum financial support this project may require. We do like to support a range of these projects, but financial support for installations and expanded cinema performances is often extremely limited.
Please use hh:mm:ss
Please list production credits - Producer, DoP, Actors, Music, Sound etc... if appropriate
Please select as many as you have available. We can screen all the above. Sadly, we can no longer screen 35mm. Please note that while we accept standard def DVDs for preview purposes, we do not usually use DVDs for actual screenings. We prefer to receive higher quality digital video files to be edited into our screening programme. We are especially delighted to screen film prints, though shipping costs can sometimes deter us from doing so if a print is not available in the UK.
Please tell us where we would get the print from - ie the name and address of the distributor/print holder and in which country. Please also tell us if the print is available free or whether screening fees would need to be paid. We can usually cover the costs of shipping for a limited number of film prints.
Please supply as much information as possible about the original format of the work, on frame rate (ie. 24 fps, 30 fps, 50 fps, 60 fps etc..), resolution (ie. 1920 x 1280, 1280 x 720, 768 x 576, 720 x 480 etc..), video container (ie. file extension - Quicktime mov, AVI etc.) and video codec (ie. which compressor used - H264, AppleProRes etc.). If you do not know how to answer this, leave it blank, but we may have to ask for more details later.
Please list any previous or forthcoming public screenings of this work including festivals and gallery installations.
Please give a short synopsis or description of at least 30 words but no more than 100 words. Please try to relate this to the overall festival themes - how does your film relate to the idea of 'DreamLand'? Or to the idea of alchemy and transformation in the moving image? Or to the natural world?
Please provide a short biography of the Director / Artist. At least 30 words but no more than 100 words.

Please upload a still image from the submitted work, suitable for use on our website or printed publicity material should your film be accepted.
Please provide a link to an online preview (ie. Vimeo or equivalent), plus any password needed for access. We prefer you do NOT use services like Dropbox or YouSendIt for preview copies. A video streaming service like Vimeo makes it much easier for us to preview your film.
