Bears, Bengals & Big Bad Barry

Through discussion, play and filmmaking workshops, six films were made in Autumn 2019 with Hawick Cubs, Jedburgh Scout Group, and Interest Link – a volunteer befriending service working with isolated children, young people and adults with learning disabilities across the Scottish Borders.

The films explore climate emergency, bullying and an invasion of alien sheep. They premiered at Bears, Bengals and Big Bad Barry, a screening at Heart of Hawick in December 2019, and were preceded by several adverts for forthcoming imaginary products made by members of Hawick’s Escape Youth Club.

This project is part of Film Town, Alchemy Film & Arts’s community-engaged creative learning programme.
