SOUPALUNCH HEROES

Soupalunch Heroes is a film created with Reaching Out, the community-based project of Hawick Congregational Community Church, which coordinates a small team of volunteers to buy, prepare and serve food to 60 people of all ages every Wednesday.

In summer 2019 Alchemy Film & Arts worked with Reaching Out to explore what they enjoy about preparing and serving these communal meals, Soupalunches. This film was streamed to the group and a wider audience during Alchemy Film and Moving Image Festival 2020.

This project is part of Film Town, Alchemy Film & Arts’s community-engaged creative learning programme.
