Soupalunch Heroes is a new film created with Reaching Out, the community-based project of Hawick Congregational Community Church, which coordinates a small team of volunteers to buy, prepare and serve food to 60 people of all ages every Wednesday.

The film was made as part of Film Town, Alchemy Film & Arts’ community filmmaking project.

Film Town is Alchemy’s community filmmaking initiative.

Encompassing workshops, partnerships and an open access media lab in Hawick town centre, it works to the benefit of Hawick and its unique communities by widening accessibility and inclusion for audiences, participants and partners, and by challenging social, physical and communication barriers.

Film Town events aim to create positive and supportive working environments, while contributing to Hawick’s economic regeneration through an investment in its cultural identity.
