The Movie Makers (2018) by Anna Raczynski, in conversation with Ed Webb-Ingall

The Movie Makers (pictured above) is a short film about members of the Pendle Movie Makers, an amateur filmmaking group based in Colne, Lancashire, and Anna Raczynski’s relationship with the group as the latest member to join in 2017 as an artist filmmaker. With reference to a number of examples of the group’s archival material, including one of the first films made by the group in the 1960s entitled Vanishing Britain, the video work addresses wider themes of ageing, change, technology, migration and community.
