SITDOWN: CLEMENS WILHELM AND JAN MARTINEC

Sitdown is an Alchemy Film & Arts series of artist interviews, published to complement its exhibitions, residencies, and other events. You can find all other Sitdown entries here.

On 4 February 2021, following the world premiere of their feature-length documentary The Brexit Tree, artists Clemens Wilhelm and Jan Martinec were joined by writer A.L. Kennedy, Deveron Projects founder Claudia Zeiske and Michael Pattison (Co-Director Alchemy Film & Arts) to discuss the film’s themes of community and curation in the context of rural Scotland and a divided Britain.

The Brexit Tree‘s world premiere was part of Continue Watching, Alchemy’s online season of film screenings, discussion events and critical writing. An essay on the film, by Alchemy Co-Director Michael Pattison, can be found here.
