APPLICATIONS CLOSED: MUSICIAN IN RESIDENCE

We are currently seeking a Musician in Residence to respond and produce new creative work in connection with our Unexpected Gardens project. This response may involve a participatory programme and/or the creation of a new piece of work to be presented at the project’s culminating harvest event in September 2022.

Working with our Creative Producer, Alchemy’s Musician in Residence will contribute to a programme of creative activities and events working with Hawick’s community gardens to build upon the town’s thriving growing activities and exploring ideas of belonging, migration and memory with a particular focus on food and its relationship to trade, movement, colonialism and political resistance.


CONDITIONS

Fee: £4368 (plus small allowance for local travel/subsistence)
Hours: 20 days (or 115 hours worked flexibly across more days), plus attendance/performance/presentation at harvest event on 10/11 September 2022
Location: Hawick, Scottish Borders

Please apply in a format that feels comfortable to you. This could be in writing (maximum two A4 sides for a covering letter) or by submitting an audio recording or a video (maximum 10 minutes).

Please also provide three examples of your work as a musician.

The successful candidate will be required to complete an Enhanced PVG with Disclosure Scotland.
