SATURDAY 16 APRIL
10.00pm – 10.40pm

A 16mm Projector & Film performance

An alchemist specialising in the precipitation of silver on film, Gaëlle Rouard is one the world’s foremost practitioners of live projection cinema. She manipulates 16mm film projectors, acting directly on the film as it passes through, slowing it down, working with the shutter, with sound and visual manipulation to create subtle improvisational effects, with a deep sensitivity to the space and time of production. Rouard has developed and is still exploring various methods of chemical processing on film, while experimenting with the possibilities of live multi-projection in both solo and collaborative forms.

Heat rise to the sky.
Fly face its end.
Sweep along bridges or run dry fountains.

Deaf are the gellinottes
Black mouth, dry throat
Drench the ground to the bone,
Like a beef wolf wheat down

Small valley in the rain,
Lantern on a nail.
Wolf tail end wolf
Run for 3 days only

Soon lying and hiding
Let each one to keep watch other one
