SCREEN BANDITA 16mm Direct Animation Workshop
Saturday 25 November 2017, 1-4pm
Get creative making wonderful abstract animations on 16mm celluloid film strips! This hands on workshop will demonstrate techniques to draw, paint, etch & collage directly onto the celluloid to create mesmerising moving image experiences. The film will then be projected so you can see your creations come to life on screen!


EXPERIMENTAL FILM TASTER WORKSHOPJoin Borders filmmaker Jason Moyes in Duns for a one day introduction to the basics of experimental film. Discussions, Ideas, Shooting, Editing and a chance to show your work to the group at the end of the day.

SUPER 8 WORKSHOP WITH AVANT KINEMA

In this fun, hands-on workshop, Borders-based experimental filmmakers/musicians, Sarahjane Swan and Roger Simian, will revisit the glory days of 8mm cine filmmaking: guiding participants through the process of shooting a low budget Super 8 cartridge, using expired stock and vintage equipment readily available on eBay, processing with the Caffenol recipe (coffee, vitamin c and washing soda), hand- colouring and scratching film, and using a projector for DIY telecine (conversion to digital video).
