Look back
5. What films are the most inspiring or influential to you at the moment, and why?:
Paolo Saurrentino’s The Great Beauty, as it’s the most resonant film on ageing I’ve yet seen. Jean-Luc Godard’s Goodbye To Language for its sheer daring. And pretty much anything by Michael Haneke. Because it is so fearlessly uncompromising.

Impossible to list just three…. today, listening to Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D Major, Clean Bandit’s Rather Be and Rodriguez’s Like Janis. Tomorrow, yesterday, a very different story.

8. What’s your greatest extravagance?:
Living
9. What turns you on – creatively, spiritually or emotionally?:

A final word?
